Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
How quickly will my hammock arrive?
All of our shipments are processed within 48 hours and
are shipped via the U.S. Postal Service - Priority Mail. As priority
mail, these packages normally take between 2-3 days to reach their
final destination. If you desire an overnight shipment or have a
large wholesale order, these are handled on a case by case basis to
determine lowest shipment costs and final method for delivery. Please
call at 540-678-0838 with any special shipment requests.
Do we sell hammock stands?
No, because they are heavy and would cost too much to
ship. We recommend that our customers go to a local store such as Bed
Bath & Beyond, Costco/Sam's Club/Price Club, Crate & Barrel,
or any other place that sells that rope hammocks. The cheaper stands
cost around $80 but the fancy wood ones can be as much as $500.
Why don't you sell rope hammocks?
One reason is that they are not made in Brazil, the
birthplace of the hammock, and compared to our hammocks they are
pretty uncomfortable and flip over easily.
How much weight will the hammock support?
If properly hung in a sturdy location, the full-sized
hammocks can hold two normal-sized adults but are most comfortable
when used one person at a time. The hammock chair is made to hold one person.
If I don't own a hammock stand, how should I hang
the hammock?
We recommend going to your local hardware store/Home
Depot and buying two screw-in hooks. The hooks are approximately 3-4
inches long and about a ¼ inch thick. It is best to place them
in a deck post (4x4), tree trunk, or something else that feels
sturdy. Sinking them into drywall is not safe unless you are
completely sure that the hook is going directly into the 2x4 stud
inside the wall. If using a tree trunk, remember to unscrew the hook
a little bit each year to aviod losing it inside of the tree.
Can I leave the hammock outside in the rain?
No, these hammocks are not made to weather the
elements. If it gets wet, let it completely air dry before storing.
Can I put the hammock in the washing machine?
We recommend only dry cleaning or a careful hand wash
of the hammock in cold water. Otherwise, the hand-made fringe may
become damaged. We generally never wash our hammocks at home.
How much space do I need to hang the hammock?
Hammock stands are normally 15 feet in length. Our
hammocks easily fit in these stands but may need a bit of extension
rope or a small length of chain in order to hang properly. If you are
looking to hang a hammock between two trees/posts, then 12 feet apart
might be a target distance. All of our regular sized hammocks are
around 13 feet long. To fit a tight spot, you can also tie a large
knot with the white cords on the end of each hammock in order to
shorten the overall length.
Do you sell your hammocks wholesale?
Yes, for orders of 10 or more hammocks we apply a 20%
discount. Please give us a call at 1-540-678-0838.
